The portrait you never got to take
Custom Pet Portraits from Your Favorite Photos
One photo of you, one photo of your pet, no photo together needed. Your portrait puts you both in the same picture, and you see three previews free before you pay.

How Our Custom Pet Portraits Work
Custom pet portraits used to mean mailing photos and waiting weeks. This takes a few minutes, and you see the result before you spend anything.

Upload a photo of you and one of your pet
A clear phone photo works, and the two don't need to be from the same room or even the same year. A photo of you from a wedding and one of your dog on the couch is a fine place to start. Add a second person or pet, or leave yourself out.

Pick three looks
Each look uses the same photos, so the only thing that changes between your three previews is the mood.

See your free preview, keep the ones you love
In about a minute, all three appear with a light watermark. Keep one for $19 or all three for $33. Not quite right? Try a new set once, free. If none feels right, close the tab and pay nothing.

Pet Portrait Looks for Every Story
Every custom pet portrait keeps what matters: your face, your pet's markings, the shape of that one ear. What changes is the setting, the light and the finish.
You and your pet, together
Forehead to Forehead, Golden Hour Walk, Sunday Sofa, Wildflower Picnic, The Classic and Front Porch. See more pet and owner portraits.
Just your pet
The Royal, Watercolor Garden and Studio Classic put all the attention on them.
In loving memory
Rainbow Meadow, Together Again, Among the Stars and Forever Golden are gentle looks for the pets we still miss. Read more about pet memorial portraits.
Holiday portraits
Fireside Christmas and Twinkle Lights arrive November 1, with or without you in the picture. See Christmas pet portraits.
Custom Dog Portraits from Any Photo
Dogs are rarely good at sitting still for the camera. That's fine. A custom dog portrait needs one clear photo of your dog's face, from the couch, the yard or the car window. Labs, doodles, dachshunds and rescues of no known breed are all welcome.

Studio ClassicCoat colors and markings
The gray muzzle, the floppy ear, the white patch on the chest, brindle or merle: these details make them yours. Black and white coats look best in soft, even light. If a detail is off after you buy, use a free redo with a note like "her left ear stands up."
Big dogs and small dogs
In a portrait with you, your dog keeps their size. A Great Dane still leans against your legs, and a Chihuahua still fits in your lap.
Two dogs
Add a second dog, or a dog and a cat. Use one photo for each pet.
Photo tips for dogs
- Get down to their eye level.
- Use window light. Flash can make eyes glow.
- Catch them calm, after a walk or a nap.
- Keep both eyes, the nose and the ear tips in the frame.

Prefer whiskers? See our cat portraits. Portraits work for dogs, cats and most household pets.

No Photo Together? Your Pet Portrait Doesn't Need One
Most of us have hundreds of photos of our pets and almost none with them. Someone is always holding the phone. So you send two separate photos, and the portrait is built from both, with matching light and a pose that looks natural, not pasted in.
Three things make the best photos:
- One face per photo. Just you in yours, just your pet in theirs.
- Clear and well lit. Eyes visible, head and shoulders in the frame, no heavy filters.
- The original photo. From your camera roll, not a screenshot or a photo saved from a chat.
Not sure your pair will work? Upload them and look. You'll know in the preview, before any payment.

A Pet Portrait Gift You Can Send Tonight
Most portrait gifts start with a photo that doesn't exist: the two of you together, both looking at the camera. This one doesn't, and its own gift page makes it arrive like a present, not an attachment.
They open your note, tap to unwrap, and the portrait appears, ready to save in full size or to print.

Share now, schedule, or keep a private link
Text the link tonight, or schedule it for 8:00 AM on their birthday or their dog's Gotcha Day. Or keep a private link to show in person; anyone with the link can open it. It's ready in minutes, even on Christmas Eve.
For the ones who've crossed the rainbow bridge
Some portraits are made for homes that feel a little quieter than they used to.
If your pet is no longer by your side, you can still have one more picture of them. For a portrait of just them, one favorite photo is enough. To be in it together again, add one photo of you. Take a week if you need one; your preview waits for you for 30 days.
It might be for the birthday that still gets marked, or the first holiday that feels different. The same free preview, the same price, and no rush.

See it before you pay
You see your portraits before you pay anything. After you buy, each portrait gets 2 free redos. If it's still obviously wrong, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days. Obviously wrong means it doesn't look like you or your pet, someone is missing, a face or paw is broken, the file is damaged or the framing is wrong, or you were charged twice. Changing your mind isn't covered.
Custom Pet Portrait FAQ
How much does a custom pet portrait cost?
The preview is free. Keep one for $19, all three for $33, or add another look later for $7. One-time payment in US dollars, no subscription.
Can I turn my pet's photo into a portrait?
Yes. Any clear photo of your pet's face works, even an everyday phone photo. JPG, PNG and WebP up to 25 MB are fine.
Do I need a photo of me and my pet together?
No. Upload one photo of you and one of your pet, taken at different times and places. The portrait puts you in the same picture.
How fast will I get my portrait?
Previews are usually ready in under a minute. After you pay, the original is ready right away, and the print-ready file follows a minute or two later.
Can I print it, and what sizes work?
Yes. You get a print-ready 8×10 file at 300 DPI that also fits 4×5 and 16×20 frames. Print at home or at any photo lab. We don't print or ship anything.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Share the gift page now, schedule it for up to three email addresses, or keep a private link to show in person. Anyone with the link can open it.
Can you make a portrait of a pet who has passed?
Yes. One clear photo of them is enough, or add one photo of you to be in it together. The In loving memory looks are gentle, and the price is the same.
Is this painted by a real artist?
No, and we'd rather say that plainly. Each portrait is made with AI image technology from the photos you upload. What you control is the part that matters: three previews, your pick, and 2 free redos. Read exactly how it's made.
What happens to my photos?
Your photos are used only for your portraits. Location data is removed before upload, and uploads are deleted after 30 days. Nothing is ever shown in a public gallery.
What if it doesn't look like my pet?
Before you pay, try a new set once, free. After you pay, each portrait gets 2 free redos with a note like "he has a white patch on his chest." Still obviously wrong? Ask for a full refund within 14 days.
Who can be in the portrait?
Up to two adults and up to two pets: dogs, cats and most household pets. We can't use photos of anyone under 18.
There's one picture missing from your camera roll. Let's make it.
